Although not all systems can verify that the account has enough of a balance to cover the check, they can at least verify that the account exists and that it is currently in good standing. Although this will not protect you from checks that bounce it does keep you from accepting bad checks. Then you went to school and learned that life is cold and unyielding. You were taught that manifesting abundance was foolish. You end up waiting some more after you already waited and waited! Or have you tried the movies by mail programs? The plan is to just get online and fill up your queue and pick up your movies at your mailbox. The only drawback is that if your first choice of movie is not in they will send your second choice or third choice or fourth choice. So when you are in the frame of mind for a scary horror movie and a romantic comedy shows up, well that is a dilemma. Another thing is that at least with the mail-in subscription that we had they didn’t always offer the new releases. So if we truly wanted to see one of the newer shows we have do wait anyway or try the dvd/video store yet again. But we recently came across something that has solved all of those problems for us. It’s great! We now download full-length movies, games, software and more from the comfort of our own home and our computer. There is a tiny membership fee that covers the cost of the download and we made sure that we were using a trustworthy site so that we can avoid any problems with adware, malware and viruses but it is working out great. The rates are very practical and comparable to any of the other ways that we got movies in the past. They offer monthly, annual and even lifetime membership plans and they are all at a reasonable cost. Now we download the movies we desire instantly and they are the full-length, high quality movies that we are used to. They even included special software so that we could burn it on a disc and watch it on our TV, which is very nice since I work in front of a computer monitor all day long and the last thing I wanted to do was gaze at a movie on my computer! But the convenience of the download service is wonderful. I can get whatever movie I want, right away, in full-length and high quality. It can be early in the morning or in the middle of the night or even Christmas Day. I never have to leave my home and the movie I want is always in stock and available. You buy a piece of property, in this case virtual property, you add some value to it, and you resell it for a profit. And whether you build and sell these websites or buy them for their income potential, it still all comes down to one thing – money. If you’ve done any kind of site flipping, or even if you’ve just thought about it, then you’ve probably heard about a site called Flippa. They are an online auction service, similar to eBay, for internet properties. They handle listings for blogs and websites, or even just domain names. You go through a simple sign up procedure and then you can flip anything you want. Blogs, websites, domain names, membership sites, eBooks, you name it, you can flip it there. Comparing their auction system to eBay’s is like comparing charcoal to diamonds. They do charge you a listing fee, a pretty hefty listing fee I might add, and they do let you set your own time limit on your auctions. They also allow you to set minimum bid amounts and reserve limits. But that’s as far as the similarities go. For one thing, Flippa has a barely minimum verification process in place. When you first register with them, their method of determining that you are who you say you are is to send a code number to your telephone. When you receive that number on your phone, you enter it into the little box and they say, Yep, that really is Santa Claus. Give that guy an account! The only other verification they do is to have you install a code number in the root of your website when you list it to prove that you own it. I’m not a programmer, OR a hacker, so I guess I’ll accept THAT one at face value. At this point, buying and selling on Flippa is a little like stepping into a street brawl. There are no monitors, there are no rules. It is survival of the fittest and you better be on your toes. Whether you are buying or selling, they have no control process in place, no monitors watching the listings, to prevent the person on the other side of the transaction from lying, cheating, and manipulating listings and pretty much just giving you their best shot right below the belt. Sites that are less than 24 hours old are listed as Premium Domains. Blogs that are nothing but the default Wordpress theme and a couple of PLR articles are listed as Unique, Customized Websites. And buyers will swoop in at the last minute to win the auction, then, after they’ve uploaded the site, they’ll file a dispute so they won’t have to pay for it. I don’t even like to think about some of the comments I’ve seen on the listings at this auction site. Scammers like to watch for sites that are getting bids. Then they swoop in like vultures and start tearing you to pieces in the comments. Sure, you can always delete those comments. But they has chosen to show when you delete them. And if you do, you run the risk of looking like you have something to hide. And their attempt to copy eBay’s feedback system is just…well…FAIL! Sellers are motivated to leave good feedback for the buyers in the hopes that the buyers will return the favor. Buyers have no motivation to leave feedback. Case closed. Their method of ending an auction is also questionable. You never really know when the auction is going to end. If you’re a seller, you have to sit for hours, watching to see if someone bids, because all bids require the acceptance of the seller. But if you’re a buyer, this system is even more frustrating. If you wait until the very last minute to place what you think is going to be the winning bid, they add 4 more hours onto the auction! According to the stats that they list on site, they processed sales in excess of $110,000 within the last week. For a site that does that much business, you’d think they would have better control over the final transaction, the part where money and property exchange hands. But they are not concerned if either party in the transaction is ever satisfied. They got their money from you when you listed the site. In the end, it’s up to the buyer and the seller to work out the details and transfer the funds and the property. Filing a dispute with Flippa if one of those parties does not comply often results in a vague answer, IF you get an answer at all. It seems to me, that with the growing interest in site flipping, there should be a better alternative than Flippa. Where is the protection for the sellers? How does a buyer know who to trust? There must be a better way! There are other auction sites out there, but, believe it or not, they are the best alternative for the time being. But I’ve been watching the listings a lot lately and sites are on there for days and days and never get a bid. Are the buyers getting smarter? Maybe. The buyers looking for quality are. But I think the SELLERS are getting smarter. I think the quality sellers are finding better ways to conduct their business and they’re pulling their buyers along with them. Solar panels are not cheap though, and the energy savings that you would realize may not be enough to justify the project. Likewise, if manufacturers did make hot tubs that ran on solar power they might cost more than people are willing to pay. Everything has to be done on a supply and demand basis and it is just not cost effective to make solar hot tubs. If you want to use some solar power with your hot tub, what you need is a solar hot tub cover. What you will want to find is some sort of cover that has solar cells and transfers the energy to keeping the water warm. Hot tubs are usually kept on all the time to keep the water hot and a solar cover will help reduce the energy. You might look online to find such a cover or you might have to find it somewhere else locally. There are not that many retail outlets that deal with solar products so it might be harder to find than you think. Solar hot tubs may never find their way onto the market because of the lack of demand. No matter how good an idea is, if you cant make money with it no one will bother to make it. A couple of actors are really good at bringing us amusing movies. Anything by Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey is usually pretty comical. And the actor alumni from Saturday Night Live all make hilarious movies. Cast includes Sylvie Testud, Julie-Marie Parmentier, Isabelle Renauld, Jean-Gabriel Nordmann, and Marie Donnio. (94 minutes, 2000) Red Sonja: A spectacularly stupid sword and magic myth with lady lead, based on mush writings of Robert E. Howard (of Conan popularity). May entertain adolescent watchers, although only point of interest for grownups is choosing who gives the worse acting job, Nielsen or villainess Bergman. Cast includes Brigitte Nielsen, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sandahl Bergman, Paul Smith, Emie Reyes, Jr., Ronald Lacey, and Pat Roach. (89 minutes, 1985) The Fourth Protocol: An excellent thriller adjusted by Frederick Forsyth from his most popular novel. Caine plays a British agent who’s designated to foil a Russian plot that could obliterate relationships between the U.S. and England by setting off an atomic bomb near an American air base in the U.K. Brosnan does well as a Russian representative. Cast includes Michael Caine, Pierce Bronson, Joanna Cassidy, Ned Beatty, Betsy Brantley, Peter Cartwright, David Conville, Matt Frewer, Ray McAnally, and Ian Richardson. (119 minutes, 1987) The Dinner Game: Humorous charade in regards to a self centered publisher who partakes in a monthly custom with his buddies to ask the stupidest individual they could find to supper. Lhermitte has discovered a doozy, a civil servant (Villeret) who interferes in his own life in incredible ways. The work is comically ludicrous without being nasty. Cast includes Thierry Lhermitte, Jacques Villeret, Francis Huster, Daniel Prevost, Alexandra Vandernoot, and Catherine Frot. (81 minutes, 1998) Darby O’Gill and the Little People: Momentous Disney fantasy in reference to an Irish caretaker (Sharpe) who tells so many unbelievable stories that no one believes him while he affirms he’s befriended the Baron of Leprechauns. This film is a real pleasure, with some beaming visual effects. Cast includes Albert Sharpe, Janet Munro, Sean Connery, Jimmy O’Dea, Kieron Moore, and Estelle Winwood. (90 minutes, 1959) The Eiger Sanction: Pseudo James Bond misfire, often accidentally ludicrous. Exhilarating mountain climbing scenes don’t make up for films numerous defects and ungodly magnitude. Jack Cassidy as gay detective gives the only artistic performing. Cast includes Clint Eastwood, George Kennedy, Vonetta McGee, Jack Cassidy, Thayer David, Heidi Bruhl, Reiner Schoene, and Brenda Venus. (128 minutes, 1975) The Happening: A light hearted and light headed caper tale focusing around the abduction of a now honorable used to be gangster (Quinn). This is Dunaway’s film debut. The title melody became No. 1 hit for The Supremes. Cast includes Anthony Quinn, George Maharis, Michael Parks, Robert Stroller, Faye Dunaway, Milton Berle, Oscar Homolka, Jack Kruschen, Clifton James, and Eugene Roche.
